Spring Break? More Like Spring GREAT!

In Life, People, Travel on February 29, 2008 at 12:38 am

Since many of my North American followers are, either at this very moment or in the weeks with precede/follow this, enjoying their Spring Breaks (less joyfully known as ‘Reading Weeks’), I thought that I would share with you the memory of my favourite, and coincidentally most epic, Spring Break.

The year was 2007, the month: February. I can remember it as if it were only last year…

Keep in mind; all of these stories are true. I know that some of them may seem a little farfetched, but place your trust in me, friends. I would never lead you astray. Not a lie has ever passed my lips, nor shall I start a legacy of falsehood today. So set your eyebrows to stunned, for you won’t believe your eyeballs when they communicate to your brain all of the magnificent things that happened to me over that long ago Spring Break… Read the rest of this entry »

A “Platyputastic” Edition

In Beauty, Fashion, Social Commentary on February 24, 2008 at 5:11 pm

Before you start: I am an English student. Therefore, even if Platyputastic wasn’t previously a word, my using it now has made it a word. I have that power. So don’t go with the complaints or the questions. I’ll even define it for you:

Platyputastic (pron. Platt-ee-put-ass-tick): Something what is fantastic and what also involves Platypi.

Platypi make great friends

And so, we can now get to the question!
Rebecca, from Awesometown, writes:

Why are platypi so shy? I know you love them so, enough to know the grammatical correctness of the species. So you must know the answer intrinsically within your soul.

Sincerely, your pal,
Rebecca of Awesometown

Dear Rebecca,

The shyness of the platypus is of course one of life’s great mysteries – and fortunately for you, one of the many which I have taken it upon myself to solve.

The answer that I found is a heartbreaking story of broken hearts and trampled spirits. You see, it all started many years ago, when the now shy and withdrawn platypi were The Proud and Noble Ancient Species that are the Duck-billed Platypi! Read the rest of this entry »

An Ask Ally Religious Experience

In Beauty, Fashion, Funny, People, Social Commentary on February 24, 2008 at 3:01 pm

Well, today I have an amusing tale which will likely offend many people but which *disclaimer* really is not meant to offend anyone’s religious beliefs. It is a tale told purely for comedic value, and having little to do with actual biblical events.

Also, I would like to point out that this story is inspired by a costumed medievalist-swordfighter gentleman whom I just glimpsed outside my kitchen window while I was watching the regular Sunday meeting (I may have mentioned it) and enjoying my healthy breakfast of cookies and coffee. It is in no way inspired by the fellow known to many as ‘The Son of God’

So, now that I’ve cleared that up, allow me to proceed!

An Ask Ally Apology

In Uncategorized on February 20, 2008 at 11:38 am

First off: with a title so full of alliteration like that, who won’t be able to accept the coming apology? Hopefully, none of you, that’s for sure.

I’m sorry that there’s been no update in so long. There are two reasons.

1) PhD Applications, and me getting sick. My lungs aren’t working, and my deadlines are coming too quickly. It’s bad.

2) No new questions. I’m serious, guys. I have about two questions left, and I haven’t really gotten a new one in about three or four weeks. And before that, over a month. There need to be questions for me to answer, so ask some!

If I get at least two questions in the next week, and I am not so sick, then I will update this weekend. Got it?

So get to it!
